Superfast Casting # 4

Very interesting J as that is certainly an earlier box in the box timeline. Maybe Rob could clarify if the #4 I bought from his auction was an originally bought by him from a shop in back in 1971 or thereabouts and came in the type I box from new?

The box types are very close together in the timeline that I am curious if it is possible that some came in the 'I' type box

Do we have any members here who can show all Three boxes together and have I got them in the right order below...

1, 'GRUESOME TWOSOME' NEW 4.
2, 'SUPERFAST' NEW 4.
3, 'SUPERFAST' 4.

I understand the order to be:

1. Superfast New 4 Gruesome Twosome
2. Superfast 4 Gruesome Twosome
3. New 4 (No Superfast Script and no model name)

Alex, is your No. 4 an additional box to what I have seen or are we describing it incorrectly.

Kev my box is a type 'I' box. The list above is for the type 'H' box of which there are 3 variations .........if that's any clearer

Strange things are a happening!!!

I have posted elsewhere about a broken link to Pat's Matchbox boxes reference site and now I notice the absence of #4 Gruesome Twosome in Nick's guide...is there a technical issue or has it simply been forgotten!

Nicks guide only lists the first SF model for each model number, so in this case he features the #4 Dodge Stake Truck and not the Gruesome Twosome

Here were the 4 model variations I had with the 3 different box variations, over the years I upgraded boxes and also tried to get all the different variations, I didn't at that time pay any specific attention to timeline variations of boxes with models, I just wanted a mint box with mint model

Thanks for the clarification Rob, appreciated. And so it remains unclear which box type the amber glass #4 should be associated with. What are your thoughts Christian?
