I have two models without a brace in my collection . There is even a variation by the models without the brace. The first model has a standard orange jib. The second one has a very pale orange jib (typical colour of the very early 26b with a grey barrel). There is a slight difference in the green shade also.

I agree with Dick, your model with brace and the grey jib is super interesting. I have not seen it before. It is a nice example of a very strange and odd models which sometimes occasionally occurs and which has no logical explaination at first glance. Thanks for sharing nice photos.

When they were found we had a discussion on the board and came to the conclusion that they were late colour trials possibly even for the sf range

If it would be for SF then it should has the tow guide. It is very odd (and anyway very nice).

Hi Jazz. I had to estimate the value on this one because I never see them for sale, But Hugh's point is very valid, It has a variation that can't be seen so I valued it with this in mind. I think I sold one recently, a repaint, it went for not very much ££s.

There are quite a few desirable,htf & rare base variations out there that collectors would like to own,irrespective that they do not diplay well.This #30 Faun truck without the rear brace is definitely in most of our want lists and could actually be someones "Holy Grail". I would love to own a minter! Its the want,the chase and the conquest for some completists and htf variation collectors.
The 3-line #28 Jaguar,the #65 Class Combine codes 1&2,the #67 Vw without tow-guide,the #46 Green Moggy with smooth under-bumper valance,the #20 Chev Taxi without front tow-guide among others comes to mind.

Prices for one without a brace of the eight wheel crane is to my opnion very low. Let me know how many there are around all the members here.
Dont think there are here 10 people without the brace.
Also the refrigerator truck without brace is also hard to find. How many have one. Price for this model is also very low.

I have two. The count is now 5.

I have only a much-loved playworn braceless one that came to us from Jason (Nearlymint) out of England. We never see the braceless ones around the U.S. at shows or on E Bay either, and Christian has already told us how few he has ever found in Europe. Could most of these earliest castings been distributed to your stores in the U.K.? kwakers
