Nice one Alex. The location of Sandown Park race coarse is on a main road with all sorts of properties nearby and I believe there is at least one drinking establishment big enough to do bed 'n' breakfast. I'll have a look for you on the 15th of this Month.

I think they have sleepover facilities at the race coarse itself in a sort of 'Motel' type complex, I'll see if I can get some details or a flyer for you.

Ghosty.

OH BLAST IT! had an appointment for my Father this afternoon with the Parkinsons Disease specialist, went down to the car, got him in and strapped-up, went round to thee driver's side and put the ignition on, opened the bonnet to replace my radiator cap (starting to get a little frosty where I am), and blimey, the smell of petrol from the engine bay...phew!

Had a little look and play around and sure enough, a fuel leak but not just from a hose, had to get Father back upstairs to his flat on the Seventh floor, phone the surgery and explain why we were not able to make the appointment and change into my old clothes.

It was now 16.10pm and I decided I was going to repair this in one go. It was leaking a lot so had to do it there and then and sort of knew where it was coming from. A fuel line feeding the Carburetter was moving and it should not. I stripped it all down, took out the feed unit which is more or less a casting designed for Three fuel feeds attached to the bottom corner of the Carb. Got it of with no trouble apart from it now being dark, so had to use a hand torch and two little 'O' rings had expired and were not working. Got out my supply of new rubbers and smeared some engine oil on them and got them on, rebuilt the assembly and switched on the ignition, checked for a leak and it was dry, now to actually start the car and put the system under pressure...........Vrooom! Vrooom! one 6.75 LTR V8 Rolls-Royce engine is running and so far no fuel leak.

Packed everything away and went upstairs to Father and made some tea, it was now only 17.30pm, job done and hopefully a trip to Sandown Park is in order.

I will be wearing my "GHOSTHUNTER" badge if anyone here wants to come and say hello, or just to tell me to get out of the way I saw that model first...

Some of the younger people here might not know what that part even looks like (or how in the world it works) LOL.

Ooooh the sound of a nice pair of side draughts much better than a dustbin sized exhaust and a hissing dump valve
