Great condition Jason, I like the 5 spoke wheels on this.

I thought the pink model had the orange pipes?
Is this an early cross over model?
Cheers Steve

As you know Steve the pipes are interchangeable, would that not be the most likely explanation?

You are right Alex , these did come with the lorry but to easy to swap. Some early variations my have had grey pipes, will have to look in the catalogues and see if there are in clues there.

I have had a quick look in the pocket catalogues and my findings are as follows...
1970, 1st showing of K10, but as an artist's illustration with Grey pipes, with front door decal.
1971, picture of actual model with Orange pipes, but no door decal.
1972, Orange pipes and door decal (last showing of the 5 spoke wheels).
1973, Orange pipes and door decal.
1974, Orange pipes and door decal.
1975, Orange pipes and door decal.
1976, not shown, replaced by a car transporter.
So the only Grey pipes are on the artists's illustration in the 1970 catalogue and the 1972 Japanese 'Flyer' catalogue shows a model in Yellow with Grey pipes, which is the normal wheel version...

Thanks Ghosty for checking, I think I will keep them with the grey ones just in case for now.
Thanks Ergomatic and John, must admit i like the 5 spoke more than the later wheels on the superkings.

Just noticed in Mack,s book that this variation is noted with grey pipes. Still hard to prove but maybe some were noted from new with grey pipes. J

My only purple one has the orange pipes and still have the retaining tie around them.
