I know that this has been a contentious topic but the real crown here is the open apology received from Ghosty for this thunderous "blunder" out of innocence.I do not condone his action but at the same time we cannot/should not crucify him as his alert meant well similar to us spotting interesting models/bargains that we already have or simply cannot afford or not in our collecting habit or scope but wish to pass them onto other forum members.
I too agree that this lot would never had gone unnoticed esp that it was listed in the correct category and that Emerald 45 is truly outstanding/catchy and a holy grail for many collectors.I can understand the feeling when the 1st person who saw this lot had presumed that they had this lot already bagged and i do understand the upsets that followed from all other interested bidders.Whats spilled is spilled and the best pocket won!
This lot most presumably seems to have come from a recognized collector or an ex-employee cos there are some really htf & rares.
What we see here is that the Charger has the small "R" similar to the prepro bases, the Porsche is missing the "R" similar to the 2nd prepro bases, the Lotus does show the open bumpers, the Mini has the prepro straight cut design behind the rivet area, and then the Red Interior Mustang.I value just these 5x models above around 500gbp.Not rubbing any salt here but this tells us that this Emerald 45 sold at an astonishingly low price and do hereby congratulate the buyer whom i hope belongs to our forum and who would then show them off.

Re: Hot tip offs
There have always been two sides to the argument of listing items on an active auction. Those with deep pockets for the most part have little concern over who sees a lot, and welcome the alert to a rare prize. Those with limited allowances for toys are very much against giving out said information. I am in the second boat. The only chance most of us have is to spend hours searching through bad pictures and poor listings to find a treasure we can afford.
I do believe nobody is harboring any ill will toward Ghosty here. It was an accident, and life moves on. However, it does re-bring the issue to light of not putting out open auction information, and how to handle it both before (through educating new and old members) and during (through moderators watchful eye).
The last round of discussion on the subject resulted in this Hot tip off thread, a place to list a buy it now item only. While some of us would like to see no mention of current listings under any circumstances, this thread has been an acceptable compromise by most members.
The status quo has worked reasonably well so far, and while we should not dismiss the agony of having a "secret" let out of the bag just because" it probably would have been spotted anyway", we need to move on, and get back to the search for our own finds.

It's only a cheap gamble, but the green colour looks a bit off to me, even with the poor photo, and it has silver trim?

They went for a best offer, so not much money changing hands. Let's hope someone got a gem in hiding
