Hi John the collection is vast the ones I have just done there are 1200 and in the same room there is 1000s of other matchbox and corgi and Oxford, ERTL range to do and in the loft I logged in a rough way no pics or detail on colour just under 6000 hotwheels Oxford just about every die cast make you can think of I have two bin bags in the spare room of hotwheels not gone through them yet and boxes of loose cars the old chap just use to buy them stick the bag full from the shop on the floor then buy more he never opened or even tuck them out the bags they was every where he's got no intention on doing anything with them he gave them to me and I am not to sure what to do yet I need to get them valued if poss I did get in touch with a auction house but they wanted 250 a day and overnight accommodation plus a % on the sale so I didn't get back to them
Thanks Steve

Might be worth some other members chipping in with some advice here because I don't have any experience of selling at private auctions. One thought is to identify a number of reputable auction houses, especially those that specialize in toys, and find out some basics like whether they collect, their commission charges and terms, etc. Send them all the same email and see what comes back. Ebay is another option, you would certainly attract a lot of interest, but I presume they would have to be sold as local collection lots which limit significantly the numbers of potential buyers. For that volume of models though there may well be dealers prepared to make the journey, some may even be relatively local. Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks John
I have looked on eBay to see the price some have been asking but it only sells if some one wants to buy so the prices may be to much ? If I have some one call to value them they will be here a month or more to do a valuation I did email a auction firm that advertise in die cast model mag they wanted a fortune I sent them picks of the spare room he said just looking at the pics a value of 30 grand plus ? For what's in the spare room
Thanks Steve

Might be worth contacting Vectis to see what they say, if you haven't already Steve.
