spot the gems (subjective!)
Re: spot the gems (subjective!)
The Milbo jeep is calling me as its got a strangely familiar paint job.In fact if you search Mr Newsons similar items all his Milbo has this mystery dreadful paint detailing...
Now we need a Milbo-Morestone link up and we may have solved the quiz.

Re: spot the gems (subjective!)
I'll message Robert to ask for some info if he has any.
I will look after any issues with copyright, I am pretty sure I remember who took the picture of those Jeeps.
Ghosty.

Re: spot the gems (subjective!)
Here is Roberts reply to a message I sent him regards Milbo.

Hi Kevin,
The Jeeps have distinctive two-tone paint, where the front and rear ends of the model were over-sprayed in a contrasting colour. This paint effect is found on the Merlin Jeep (made by T.A.L.Developments of Tottenham) and the Modern Products racing car, and on various other unidentified models, including diecast and composition. For lack of any other identification, I group them all together as Merlin/TAL.
Some of the Jeeps have a logo reading LONDON MILBO. I have not been able to identify the owner of the MILBO brand. Perhaps it was another brand name used by TAL? There was also a firm called Milbourne in Seven Sisters Road which requires further research, maybe they were also a small diecaster? But I am not sure.
Best wishes,
Robert

Re: spot the gems (subjective!)
That is a great answer from Robert and please pass on my thanks for that he knows his stuff...
..This is a bit like all Agatha Christies detectives working together with Conans Dolyles and still waiting for the guys from New Tricks to come a long and just solve it with facts.....I just put another week in on this and can't seem to move forward with an answer...I sense an answer brewing now we have the experts on board.Meanwhile I just received a nice smart yellow one this morning. That makes 4 and hopefully two Milbo jeeps to come if I win them.....Lets see if the weekend brings any more info.
