I mailed the guy I bought it from, and he said he had got it from a man (now deceased) who used to send him odd metal cars now and then. This was about 20 years ago, though, so he couldn't say anything more about it.

I just saw this thread for the first time. A right hand drive copy of a Tootsietoys Corvette is really interesting. It must be from the UK or a former British colony, since no American company would even imagine a RHD Corvette. The cast numbers on the rear tag convince me it is an intentional copy. Beyond that it is not like anything I have seen before.
