Hello numi just read your last post about having the tail board at the bottom, so may be this will help you to see it with-out the ridge, I hope ;) ;)

Hi Numi
I am enclosing once more the photo of the tipper bed with the ridge (or step?, or strengthening?, or rib?, or reinforcement?)

and the tipper with the smooth bed (without the ridge). I hope that the difference is clear now.

I believe "Antonin" is trying to highlight these lines and marks, highlighted here by myself in yellow.

Though it is quite hard to see in a photo.

It seems odd to me that the ridge does not align with the ends of the ribs in the bed. Rather than being a deliberate casting variation, could this instead be the result of tool misalignment?

If you look at the photo Ghosty has circled Antonin, I see the line on the body's inner sidewall Numi is talking about, indicating the tailgate was in the Dump box when this one was painted. It now also shows up in Numi's latest enlarged shot, being just a straight dark line on the right wall. The ridge shown by Stannard in his illustration shows the ridge line well behind the end of the bed ribs. I don't have one of these variations, but I now must question this one further. Didn't you show us one of these quite a while ago Numi with that ridge, or was it just a discussion?? kwakers

Hi Kwakers,i do remember hijacking Tinmans thread (sorry Tinman) some time ago on his 3b Bedford and i presume it was on the old forum but yes,i could be wrong. If its on this forum then Idris is the best person to help dig it up.We had discussed the Maroon Ridged Tipper with pics but my specimen & my external hard-drive with pics are back home.

You flatter me! (Please keep it up!)
I can't find it on this Forum (and I'm pretty sure that I've looked for it before, also without success.) I have the idea that it was on Lefora, but after The Change (which is why you might have thought it was on this Forum).
