Yes theres a good point but you would think a nice thick coat of yellow [and those of us who have painted anything yellow know that it needs to be ladled on with a trowel]would not help highlight any faults but would do the exact opposite.....JAT..

For this period in 1968, Blue exterior paint was the primary choice at the Lesney R & D Pre-pro shop. Examples known with this pre-pro blue exterior paint from 1968 are the #28 Mack Dump, the #26 GMC Tipper, and the #43 Pony Trailer.
The usual pre-pro interiors up to 1968 were usually done in white, and the early white interior Miura was produced with a tow guide as a first release in small numbers. That hard to find Code may be an R & D pre-production model, and I have never seen the red interior with tow guide that Nick is also listing in his Guide. If this blue interior model was a genuine early pre-pro, it would have that ultra-rare tow guide on its base.
Without further pictures of this Miura with its very odd blue interior, nothing more can be known about this models' origin. Too bad the interior details were not made available to us, that could answer some of our basic questions we have on it. IF the model were late RW and just pre-Superfast, it would be painted the last GOLD RW body colour, and not this early production yellow.
No wonder there are no Regular wheel Miuras in gold available to collectors, Dan is hoarding too many for any single Lesney collector. (Dan may in fact be the man with the sharpest eyes?)......LOL
