Frickin' Frackin' Som o a witch Ebay!!!!!
I have a few nice commons on the Bay and one just happens to be won by a fella in another country. Ebay sends me the address as a city right near me. I can't even figure out what country he's from. Somehow I ended up on their "Ebay, screw the customer plan". The car, a blue Lincoln, nice, but not totally mint, sells for $7.99. I have $3 postage on it. So the way it works is the buyer pays his total as decided by Ebay, I collect what I was asking and the crooks, I mean Ebay, keep the difference in exchange for doing the international shipping part. 1 car, small box Ebay gets $22.72 for shipping it! I so hate these guys.

How about contacting the buyer, cancelling the sale, and then relisting as a BiN with normal postage? Evereybody (except Ebay) wins!

My first encounter with the gsp. This is legal money laundering . You cant even leave negative or neutral feedback that has anything to do with gsp. Even positive feedback will be removed if it has negative content . Why the hell would I want to pay the seller to ship my item to another location in the US . Only to have it posted on to me . What is wrong with USPS .They have tracking numbers and insurance (that is cheaper than the gsp) I have never had a problem with USPS and they are half the cost of gsp items . Seriously , we as buyers have to start telling sellers to opt out or their sales will plummet ,if they have not already.

G - global
S - scavenging
P - profiteers

Do what i do and don't buy from sellers who have signed up to the GSP. They will soon get the message when their foreign sales dry up!

Clearly anyone who thinks this GSP shit is a good idea needs their head looked at!!

A few weeks ago I was looking at some US-based items on ebay - auction price was reasonable but the proposed GSP international postage cost was insane and would have put me off bidding.

I contacted the seller and pointed out the magnitude of the GSP cost (and how high it was compared to USPS) and he was very surprised - he had no idea how high it was (must have applied by default). The seller then amended item's postage price down to a far more reasonable level (the seller must have opted out of GSP) and so I bid on and won the item and paid proper postage.

Happy buyer; happy seller. Postage rip-off avoided!!
