In my world I define a transitional model by the casting. If it is a casting that was included within the last year of the regular wheel range (1969) that appeared the following year wearing Superfast wheels, I think of those models as transitional. So in my mind the Superfast models that Rod included in his photo are transitionals.

Idris mentioned that he thinks of the regular wheel models in Superfast colors, (purple 67 VW, metallic green Lincoln, red Berlineta) as transitional. That makes sense but I've never thought of it that way. To me a transitional is always a Superfast model.
