They look as if they are in good condition, requiring just a gentle clean up. We see models from model railway layouts in either the condition as shown by yours, or they have been superdetailed by hand with extra Silver painted trim on bumpers and grille etc. I think you did well on the price for those Two.

I do, too. Another shop had a quite nice 67B that was tempting, and fairly priced at $10, but I'd rather get two models for that price.

I took a foray into the 1970s! These two were eBay pickups. We'll start with what I initially believed was the better of the two: the K45A Marauder. I need to re-align the rear axle and glue the broken roll-bar back together, and then it'll be a perfect beater, for use as originally intended.

I also picked up a K32A Shovel Nose. This one is actually in fairly decent shape but for the missing steering wheel, which I intend to replace.

I'm starting to really like the King Size/Speed Kings/Super Kings models, as they have better shelf presence than a 1-75 series without being a nightmare to store and display (having previously had a few 1:18 models, I speak from personal experience there!). This likely will become my primary collecting focus. Meanwhile, if anyone has an idea how to best replace that Shovel Nose steering wheel, I'd be grateful.

Wow...almost three years without a post in this thread! I'm happy to say that all the models previously seen herein have remained in my possession. But without further ado, on to my latest pick-up: a K55A Corvette Caper Cart, which is one of the nicest Lesneys I've yet owned.

I have a couple more Lesneys, and possibly a Dinky, on the way...2019 could be a banner year for me!

I got three more Lesneys in this week, but had to hold off on photographing two of them till today. Daylight helps my photos look decent, but I am out of the house during those hours between Monday and Friday.

The first find is a K32A Shovel Nose. I got one of these a while back, but it lost its steering wheel somewhere along the way. The new one has its steering wheel, as well as a different label. Someday I'll use its steering wheel to whip up a replacement for the other Shovel Nose.

The other two represent a new area of collecting for me. Some time ago, motorman and I had the following exchange:

That has changed, as I got two Superfast models in this week. Both are nice enough to display, but not too nice to zip across the floor (and entertain a cat in so doing!). The first is an early 20D Lamborghini Marzal.

The second is a 29D Racing Mini. I can see adding many more of these to my collection; there seems to be a plethora of variations to find, and the Mini is one of my favorite cars. I'd love to own one someday.

That's all for now, but I have more on the way, including a Matchbox rendition of another of my favorite cars.

Superfast models had a very long production period from late 1969 to well into the 1980's depending on your take of when they no longer became proper matchbox originated models so yes, plenty to choose from.

Yes indeed! It was an on-pack offer for a Rice Krispies MB38 Model A van that got me to start collecting (rather than just playing with) die-cast vehicles. There are even a couple of very recently produced Matchbox models in my collection.

I find myself buying more Superfast models in the past few years. I never collected them before, but you can usually find some very near mint models at a very good prices compared to regular wheeled models.

Bob, I have also found that to be true. A little bit of patience and good timing has recently allowed me to be the sole bidder on three Superfast models. The 20D was among them. The total out-the-door price for all three was $13.73 US. I'm certain that, with a larger supply of patience, one can still find good deals on Regular Wheels.
