Probably better as two different subjects. The "show" was a fun place to show off ones own examples of model number discussed for a specific week. Like any usual thread, anyone could go back (at any point in time) and join the discussion, add photos and ask questions. The catalog analysis thread is not a show and more of a search.

I also want to clearly state my intended meaning of this comment (before someone takes it out of context): "what's the point of continuing on with a repeating duplicate and lesser guide?" The point I want to convey is that the thread could have been locked and posted as a sticky, a long time ago, if it were just some sort of auxiliary guide. In no way is to meant to demean or belittle the efforts of those who do post in the thread.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

If anyone wants to see something that's like a Guide or Catalog but presented in a style similar to the 40 Years book, Greg Davis has composed an excellent series on pre-1970 1-75s. He introduced a new model each week (similar to the casting show) it's really a wonderful read. Perhaps we could entice Greg to post his series of articles here?

Hi Tinman those spots are actual casting flaws. The bottom of the cab also has one.Could this specimen come from the initial run with low pressure in the moulds?
Thanks,
numi

Numi, if it's muddy brown (not gray), has no infill behind the cab and has no decal guide lines then it could be early production. Should also have flat head crimp axles.

Thanks Tinman, ure correct in that it has all of the above incl crimped axles. The decal application is a bit messy. There are also casting flaws on the left door & roof and can be seen in pic which i have darkened for easier viewing.
Thanks again,

Sure looks like a low pressure casting to me.
