Thanx for sharing about this event.
How many attendees do you think there were?

He was offering a 20% discount this weekend but the expensive ones I wanted still seemed pretty high. I did get the 67 RW Purple VW for a great price this weekend MIB.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who thought they were a little too expensive

Some pictures of Saturday's activities that started with lecture/class opportunities including:
Ali Sakariti- rare and obscure regular wheel variations
The Mattel Team
Jim Reid- customizing models
and here's Hardy Ristau during his Superfast Pre-production presentation:
At 5:00pm the doors opened for the day's main events. Mattel's Michael Heralda was the guest of honor. After 28 years and 5000+ model designs Michael is retiring.
Of the previous ten Matchbox Ambassadors, six were in attendance at the Gathering. From Left to Right:
Chuck Wiersma, Terry Ozima, Larry Skadudo, John Lambert, David Tilley and Jim Gallegos
And then came the big moment...... drum roll please.......... the Mattel introduction of the new Matchbox Ambassador! And the honor went to Germany's Dirk Schleuer (left)!
Next came the Mattel preview of the new year's upcoming range of toys. The diecast line will feature some fun new inclusions such as the Chrysler 300, a 1990 VW transporter crew-cab, 1971 Nissan Skyline, and the 2015 Mazda MX-5/Miata.
I've got more photos from the Sunday Toy Show. I'll try to get back with those another time.

Hi,
I saw the pics of Jim Reids beautiful customs.
Is he member of this Forum or does he have a Homepage?
I would really like to see more of his models.

Jim Reid is a lurker here (despite my asking him to join a number of times). He does not have a home page. He's a little like Kwakers in some regards, Jimmy doesn't even own a cell phone. His work was often posted on the now gone mcch website.
