Searched for more info regarding the convertible truck - it is a Saurer 6-GAVFR-Z of the Austrian Federal Army, built from 1958-60, a 4x4 designed to pull a Bofors 40mm anti-aircraft gun. It seated ten and had space for ammunition and two spare flak gun tubes. It was underpowered (140 HP from an 8-litre diesel) and replaced in 1967.

I think the first picture in Mikes 3rd post (4th post page 1) shows a 15a Prime mover?. (parked behind the jeep)

I visited that museum on two occasions, in 1994 and 2008, and the contents on display had changed quite a bit between those two visits.
Now I see again some vehicles which were not there in 2008. Perhaps another visit to Bad Ischl is due (maybe next year in conjunction with the 2016 K.u.K. Rallye).
