I agree that this was down to a printing error as I initially mentioned, and as Christian says most likely to have been when the word NEW was removed from the faces, the other side of the box I have just has the number 63 in the square and no NEW above it.
If the error was spotted quickly as Christian suggests then the law of averages reasons that there can only be a certain number that would still exist today in any condition, just how many is anyone's guess.

A pair of prepro Freeway trailers note the smooth plastic
Yellow cab is the normal issue but good as a colour shade reference

I have a small Dodge Crane collection, all but this one is regular wheel. This one caught my eye because of the marked contrast between the crane body and the base. I have seen a few of these but this one seems to have the most pronounced shade difference

I agree it is not hard to find but as it was in a job lot with an average price of 72p I took the plunge
It makes a nice contrast to the regular wheel dodge cranes I have which are all the same orangey yellow

Update on the prepro trailer
Thanks to Al I now have a 5 spoke colour matching cab...question is are all 5 spoke cabs the darker yellow than the standard m/c wheel ones or have I been really lucky to find a prepro colour trial cab
There's also a dark yellow one on Christians site with all m/c wheels and white cab base

Comparison with my 5 spoke cab. I realise this isn’t very scientific comparing two photographic images
but I would suggest the cab that Reg has is a darker shade based on these images
