I disagree. I would have thought that the roof insert without the fillets at the front is earlier since it is a weaker design. Furthermore, the changes to the rear of the window insert can only be designed to help with location since the gap between the interior and the tailgate is now filled.
I would therefore suggest that the squared off/narrow-tailed window insert has to be earlier than the filleted/wide-tailed version.

I have 5 all blue versions without towguides, all have the slope at the front with the wide tail version. Most of my later models with tow guides and lighter blue roof inserts have the squared off/narrow tailed window insert.
There is also an interim version with a shorter slope, this only seems to be on my very lightest model. J

There seems to have been a modification to the window plastic to stop the roof from going in to far. All the ones with the step stop the roof from going to far into the car. Leaving a lttle gap so you can pull it back. J

Sorry Jason. I've read the above several times and am struggling to understand exactly what you mean. Could you please rephrase?
Hi Hugh, I have added a picture which is easier for me. I think they added this step to stop the roof going in to far, also I think with the slope inside it almost acts like a wedge and the roof can get stuck.
