Needed a new top, brakes squeaked and pulled to the left. Check engine light on. Did not fit great either. But I had never had a chance to drive one before.

Ended up with this. Brand new Mustang GT California Special with all the options on it. Probably not a surprise to those that know me.

Not a surprise at all! What a beauty and must be great fun to drive!
I think you should drive it to Albuquerque in July via Durango ................!
Congrats Tom.

My feelings as well "Motorman", the thread started off with an Aston Martin so automatically suggesting we was eventually going to make this totally 'Bondish' in content and then Bill you change it... :(

Ghosty.

Greetings,
I may need a new car here soon. I've been looking at older used luxury cars. Does anyone have any feedback on 2005-2009 Jaguar S type? They seem pretty reasonable in price but old Jags are expensive to fix. I've read that the models 2003 and newer are much better for reliability. I like the XJ's too but if I decide on a road tank I think the old Mercedes S500/S600 are better values? I've seen some 2006/2007 Jag S with less than 100k miles for less than $10000 USD. Those big Mercedes that cost $80-100k can be had for about the same but they are early 2000's for that price.

I have had 2 "S-Types" both from new between 2000-2006. Kept them for 3 years each and put on 150.000 km on each, without a spot of bother. Both were regularly serviced and apart from the usual things like brakes and tyres nothing.
Went off Jags due to the resale value! Last one cost 54.000 € new and after three years I returned 14.500 €! Swapped to Audi, resale much better.
