I have been to the museum yesterday for the whole day from 10.15 till 17.00 and have made more photos of different cabinets at the exhbition.
There were many collectors including a couple from the UK who came with an old Bristol car and a collector from Belgium who came all the way by public transport, especially for this exhbition. The day was very well atended and people realy liked the exhbtion.

You can download my photos free via this weblink.

Thank you for the comprehensive coverage.
I like your display - nice touch to have the boxes at the rear.
One question, in your display do the larger Kingsize models at the front "block the view" of the smaller 1-75s.

I liked the wooden boxed models, kombi collection and the Citroen garage. Also the hand drawn pictures of the gift models.
Cam on em.
(Thankyou) from radar in Vietnam.

Thank you Radar for your compliments
I know what you mean but It is still possible to see the 1-75 models.
I have choosen to populate those 3 generic displays as they were pictured in the (rare) UK trade catalogues fo those years.
(I got the scans from USA collector Steve Barfield as I didn't have those rare catalogues)

As people can walk around the glasscabinets and could otherwise see into the construction of the backside of the shopdisplays I have choosen to put the boxes of the models on that side of the cabinet. The graphics on those 50 year old boxes looks superb.

Don't forget to visit this exhbiton which is now in it's 4rd week.
It ends aug 9rd, so only 17 days left. The rest of the museum is also worth a visit.
I will visit the exhbition myself again at least on:
monday july 27
sunday aug 2
friday aug 7 with Gary Galvin and some other friends from the UK.

Thanks Marcel
You alluded to recreating the 1960s trade displays.
Well done, I am all for authenticity - even if I do have some of my original 50s toys restored. After my brothers painted them in the 60s with house paint.

The Le Mans winner - he is a serious collector too? I will look him up on wiki.

Thanks again.

If you scroll somewhat down you can see former Le Mans winner Gijs van Lennep placing a Porsche into the Porsche cabinet.

That was the official opening ceronomy, tuesday june 30rd. It was the last modelcar placed into one of the 112 cabinets.
The models are from a Porsche collector (Guus Fritschy) as Gijs van Lennep only has aprox 9 scale models him self.

You will see him in an interview here:
