Welcome !

I just joined the forum few days ago and think it's a kind place.

Great job you make with 3D printers.

now I understand what is ment by replacement tracks.
I have two of them missing on the Snow-trac in the Picture below.
If anyone of you could make a scetch with all measurements I can do the 3D-data and send it to you by E-Mail.
With this data you can place an order at shapeways.
Choose material "Elasto Plastic" and we will see how the parts appear.

I doubt it would be cost effective. You can get a set of replacement tracks/treads for 3 euro.

Hi,

where can I buy the replacement-tracks for my snow-trac?
Of course this would be a much cheaper and better way to get this parts.

But I´m not sure if SMS88 was thinking about this tracks or maybe for another model where no spare parts are avaiable?

Stephan

@ Stepahne thanks for your welcome. Isn´t it amazing how collecting little toy cars can bring people from all over the world together.

There are a number of suppliers, here's one from ebay. I don't know if they are the cheapest but I've had good quality spares from nobleco in the past:

There are other suppliers who make reproduction parts here, maybe worth a look:

The tracks/treads are available (as replacement parts) for all Matchbox 1-75, Majors & Kings.

The best sources:
Modelcarparts.com (Netherlands): http://www.modelcarparts.com/ (available for 1,50 Euro each)

Model-Supplies Co. UK (England): http://www.model-supplies.co.uk/ (available for 1.30 GBP each)

Recovertoy.com/ (Australia): http://www.recovertoy.com/index.php (closed since May 2014 and expected to reopen in Nov. 2014, as of this date the site is still off line)

The ebay seller is charging a significant mark-up and $4.50 in postage for a set. He's buying them from one of the above and marking up the price 300% plus charging excessive postage.

Hi,

thanks a lot for these links.
With this background it dosn´t make sense to print replacement tracks.

Hi today I had the chance to take a ride in a Snow-Trac.
It was cold, sticky and loud - but great fun.
