Still in communication with the seller who seent me some more pictures.
One thing in particular catches my eye: the rivet on the far left bottom car, looks off center in comparison with the others.

My observations...

4 of them have the push-in wheel rim (hub), the other 2 are separate wheel and tyre combinations.
3 of them have NO towing facility.
1 only has the Second part of the towing facility (where is the the First part...!!).
1 has both parts of the towing facility.
4 of them do not have the patent number text, the other 2 do.

The Purple model is the example that has the First part of the towing facility missing, this is the little extra piece of casting added to the lower valance under the front bumper, looking like a too small number plate. The baseplate fitted to this model has the Two 'Pips' cast at the leading edge, this is the Second part of the towing facility and was added to prevent the Wrecker Truck's hook from sliding sideways allowing the car to fall off!

I do not see this First part in the picture, but if it is there, My apologies for typing the above and you can ignore it.

To my observations the one lower left bottom (the one with the possible off center rivet), only has the first part of the towing facility (the small number plate), whereas the purple car only has the second part, like you noted.
So we have 3 with no towing facility
1 with both, 1 with the first (number plate) part and 1 with the second (pips) part.

I have an original red 24C Ghosty with just the tow guide base and no bumper extension just like the one noted here (Nick's Code 6). They are so uncommon, Stannard missed this combination in 1985. The riveted axle ends look a bit too flat on a couple of these latest pictures Ecclesley, but the base rivets look O.K. on all of the models, even the one done off center. Could the bases' excellent rivets have been glued back on from other "donor" models? YES? An in-hand inspection is needed, but the varying castings and different later tires do not support the early "paint trial" theory these pictures brought to mind for me initially. All may not be as it seems on these. Thanks for the very detailed descriptions and pictures of these Rolls, they are all very well done dream colors that Ghosty may now lose sleep over....LOL .....kwakers

Thanks Kwakers for your observations. I do not think these are paint trials.
To me they are repainted models, done in a very fine way.
Whatever the intention of the present owner/seller, he/she has done a lot of effort to make these cars look as if they are ex-factory.
It must also be noted that they are not offered as paint trials, seller calls it a unique set of Lesney Rolls Royces.
I like them and I will try to finalise a deal today.

I Think these Rolls are all done with top quality work, and I also like them Ecclesley. I wish you the best luck on being able to buy them as a group tonight. (of course keeping in mind they seem to be "Customs".) They are an amazing group, so I just had to add my comments. kwakers
