I am not sure if i have mentioned it here before but last year i picked up a stunning near mint Yellow SF#33 Muira with tow guide for £1. Sorry for not letting you guys and gals know that,..... i am a little forgetful!!!

I came across Harveys listing this morning and this is how he describes a Cream Red Cross Lomas that he has on sale.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Matchbox-No-1 ... 4d1ad598dd

Matchbox 1-75 Regular Wheel series No. 14C Lomas Ambulance
Well, here's one which truly deserves the classification "extremly rare", less then 10 models known to exist worldwide in collections. The very first issue of the No.14C Lomas Ambulance, dark cream body ( different then any other issue of the Lomas ), "cross" outline casted on the roof, "Red Cross" decal fitted to the roof ( same decal as used on the 14B ), knobby black wheels, dark cream interior, both rear doors are present. This is the very first rund of the new Lomas Ambulance and after this one small production round it was decided to save the "red Cross"decal on the roof and to remove the "cross" casting outlines too. Very early models of the Lomas still showing the cross outlines on the roof but they don't have the decal fitted and they are either painted in pure-white or the common off-white colour. As you can see the model has heavy playwear and lots of chips but is still an presentable piece of Matchbox history - you might never get a chance to upgrade this! Comes with good complete "C" box with one loose outer flap. The last picture shows an comparision between this dark cream model, the rare pur-white colour and the later standard off-white / light cream body colour.

Model condition: 6
Boxtype: C
Box condition: 8
Stannard catalog code: 1

The wheels on Hardy´s example and perhaps numi´s example look in the photos like black versions of common 9x20mm tyres rather than the uncommon 9.5x20mm used on later Lomas production which have more knobby tread............
This casting makes my top 10 Lesney 1-75 series favourites, I hope I will find one with genuine roof cross here in the wild!

Thanks Mr Mick for pointing out the possibly different wheel variant and i will definitely check them when this Lomas arrives.
Remain optimistic and somehow, someday a similar Cream Red Cross Lomas with your name on it will pop up :)

My Cream Lomas has landed safely and i am Love-Struck !! :D
A hearty thanks to Mr Nick Jones for his efforts with receiving this Lomas on my behalf and re-posting with utmost care and concern to me in Sa.It was professionally & safely packaged and i am grateful for that Mr Jones! :)

I really cannot express my excitement in words but i can tell u that its a rare & wonderful feeling to be holding a genuine piece of Lesney history in my hands. This is my Cream Lomas with Red Roof Cross dream come true!

A quick inspection reveals:
Genuine Lesney Cream in a slightly lighter & creamier shade than my aged #14a Lomas
Genuine Lesney Red Cross waterslide decal
Unusually rough body cast
9.3mm x 20 tread black wheels
The rear axle-end seems to be spun??
No Round Block on floor brace
Has the 1st casting roof (indent above front windscreen)
Comes with 4x headlights...

I will post pics when i find some time.
Once again i thank all members who contributed and made me feel easy during this anxiety-struck period :)

Its not a waterslide decal,it should be a solvent fix decal - look at the photo Nick shared showing the unused ones - the solvent turns the carrier film into a solvent glue that binds the decal to the toy as if it were paint - water wont make this come off your new toy if its a genuine solvent fix decal! Nice to see that the unique to this variant tyre size has been proven - another way to authenticate these when they turn up in future on ebay, knobby bpw = faked with a later casting !

A superb find Numi,
As Nick has said one of the axle ends looks odd but also the trim overspray. The wheels measure spot on , I have standard cream versions with these wheels.
I did see one like this many moons ago on ebay, playworn and went over £200.00 if I remember right.
Still have not seen this early casting with black wheels myself yet so this is truly a great model and in such pristine condition.
Needs to be displayed with the other one Numi to show its true potential.
All the best
Jason

Thanks Jason for your warm congrats. :)
I noticed that this Cream Lomas has some casting differences as compared with the later White and Off-White castings and will post some pics when i get a chance.
