Why not simply multiply the existing codes by 10 (e.g. 65a-1 becomes 65a-10, 65a-2 becomes 65a-20 etc.) in order to create space for new variations to be slotted in in their logical places whilst, at the same time, allowing collectors to keep their existing cataloguing (albeit by adding a zero to every label!)?

That is an idea well worth considering Idris that will lock Nick's present codes, but give lots of room for future expansion. The only problem I still see in the future is where you will add any additional models between them. If code one becomes 10, and you find an earlier casting, do you call it 5? That would work I guess and leave many codes to slip in before and after both that 5 and the 10 spots. A column could also be added to indicate when these additional 'new' codes were discovered and added to Nick's tables.
I am now finding it interesting that Stannard missed the rear bumper or 'brace' on the 47C DAF Tipper Container Truck that I had thought was our new discovery here. In 8/13 we added that 'New' discovery to Nick's listings. A local collector casually looked at mine from nearlymint, and said 'Harold Colpitts had that one in AIM in the 80s'. Almost in shock, I ran home to not only find Harold had it in 1983, but had it with a stock regular wheel tow slot and also a last 'small tow slot', making TWO variations of that rear bumper or 'rear brace' as Harold had called and illustrated it 31 years ago in his guide. I never saw that coming, and now wonder how I missed them both!
We are slowly closing in on a complete regular wheel coding, but we still have lots of enjoyment left as we 'discover' more of these 'unknown oddities'. ;) kwakers

I think the easiest way is to lock the codes after the update and then additional models can be added too the bottom of the list but to try and keep the timeline in order the new variations can be coded as 17(a) or 5(a), 5(b) etc so they keep their correct place in the timeline,

I would suggest to lock up the codes for one year and at the end of each year to make an update. Each new variation should be inserted into the list in the expected possition, but without any code, the possition should be marked as "pending". If this this variation would be confirmed by another member of the forum (or there would be no doubt about its authenticity) it should get its new code in the end of the year.

Could be confirmed the variation with one central ejector ring by someone? Does anybody another variation of the trim?

Hi Antonin, I've checked all of mine and I don't have the single ejector, so that's one to look out for. I do have one with silver trim to the front spotlights and headlights though :D I have noticed that the mask sprayed trim to the rear licence plate is barely visible on a number of my models, I think possibly from clogged masks.

thanks for checking it. It seems to be quite rare (and long time overlooked) variation with one central ejector ring. The different size of the silver trim on the rear licence plate could be from clogged mask or bigger opening in the mask? I do not know.

I am enclosing my proposal of 65a-list. (HA - Hand Applied, MS - Mask Sprayed)
