Antonin, looking at your photographs, I see that when the pre-production's window insert is viewed “edge on” (such as at the top of the windscreen), a greenish tint is present. Are there windows really 100% clear or are they just very, very pale green?

Wonderful photos of blue 65b - is there any fascinating back story to its past ?

Hugh, there is a very small undertone of green, which is visible only on the edges.

Numi, I like your post very much, the last contribution about 14c Lomas is very interesting. What do you think (and other members also) about red metallic Jag with GPW.
Is it:
1) red metallic pre-pro?
2) very first short run?
3) standard code which was only long time overlooked?

never seen one but have seen dozens with spw - if I ever find one in the wild then I would call it a short first run - either way it will be a short run not a standard code not overlooked - folks spotted the red enamel with spw fast enough!

My opinion would be a very short run with Gray Plastic wheels while waiting for the newer silver wheels Antonin. We will never know whether the GPW came first, or if Lesney was just using up old supplies of discontinued GPW wheels later on, but it is a new 'rare' tire variation that I will research. I will have to check my 40 year old 'Want List' before I say I have never heard of this one.
The Blue 65B is Super, what a dream variation....... :o :o kwakers

Hi Antonin,i certainly hadn't come across another Met-Red #65b Jag fitted with GPW's so your find is rare at this stage.I too agree that this could possibly be an early short run and Kwakers could also be correct in stating that the factory could have been out of stock of SPW's at that stage or your specimen is simply an error or a variation that remained undiscovered until now.
Its one that we collectors would now look out for and thanks for sharing.

Im beginning to get the feeling that Antonin has been collecting Matchbox Models even before being born...
