This photography business is tricky. One camera to the next makes for some subtle differences but I think the biggest variable as George has pointed out is lighting, both the quantity and quality (the source) of the light. We wrestle with these same problems in dealing with shade matching within the dental realm.
I spent some time one evening about three years back trying to get some good photos to cross reference all of these assorted blues. I'll share a couple here but trust me.... there's more if you want to see MATCHBOX blues compared side-by-side.
That lightest blue on the 75A Thunderbird does seem to be by far the most elusive. Here is a photo with that one side-by-side with other models in that lighter blue base range.

And then, a more general comparison shot of the base variations on the 57B, 75A and 74A models:

And by the way... I've got an extra rather tidy (not mint but quite nice) Thunderbird with the blue-green base right now. I'd be open to some trading if anyone needs this variation. My hunch is that Jason's got you covered johnboy but any of you other variation hounds can feel free to drop me a PM.

Superb info Greg, thankyou very much. Also trying to find out if the clear windows are just very pale green as on the 65b Jag.
All the best

Greg, Really good array of documented colors on three great A and B series models. While I agree that the lighter blue base on the 75A is the hardest of the lot to locate, the lighter blue base of the 57B is not too far behind in the U.S. In 34 years I can count on one hand each of those types that I've seen; in other words less than 10 :!:
