I hadn't noticed that you showed two other variations of holding the rear wheels on Wolfie, very interesting indeed! Is the one on the left a flared hollow tube riveted on both sides? Is the one on the right crimped on the opposite side of this nail type head? kwakers

Dick I am just repeating what I read elsewhere when I say that UK Masseys had riveted rear wheels and the ones intended for the USA were held on with phillips screws. But you could have hit the nail on the head with your suggestion that the rear wheels were not fitted until they had reached the USA to save on shipping space. of course!

I have to laugh when I see the photo above. I have one split in two and the steering is a very simple arrangement when compare to how sophisticated the actual body casting is. A true work of art when seen inside.
