I agree that the Fryer is a hideous monstrosity of a model.. its designer should be banished forever to the Lesney dungeons, never to see daylight again
However, I think the 'Coopa' is a tad more attractive. Only that ghastly, angular 'roof' at the back spoils its otherwise streamlined looks!
Have a nice one!
Cheers, Ken
We shouldn't really be so harsh, the poor designers were just going with the flow. Although I personally can't stand any of the 'made up' models they are undeniably of their era and I would defend anyone's right to collect them. The one designer who really should have been put into a dungeon was the guy who turned the BMC 1100/1300 series into the Allegro. Thank goodness Lesney never modelled that, give me a Fryer or a Coopa any day

What! somebody doesn't like the 'ALLAGRO'. Just because it had a rectanguler steering wheel and the rear screen fell out if you jacked up the car at the wrong point!
Ghosty.

Ah the mighty Allegro. I haven't seen one since I left Britain (gee, wonder why?) but they were an everyday sight when I lived there. I think they're Britain's answer to the AMC Pacer.
There was some American car that had a square steering wheel back in the 50s. Not sure what it was but it used to appear on "Leave It To Beaver". I think they used Chryslers or Plymouths on that show.
