Hello Lee, thank's for the compliment.

I never really kept count of what I have in the collection overall. Across 1985-88, I listed all the variations I had in the collection for the Lone-Star, Lledo, Corgi, Dinky and Matchbox Rolls-Royce model variations, listed in pocket books and I used to carry these to toy fairs so I could check models agains the entries to check for new variations. It got to the stage these books were becoming too cumbersome to carry so had to re-learn all the variations and keep them in my Head!

I still have those books and I see in one of them I have actually written some totals dated October 1994, 724 models listed across all these Red books, 8 books in total!

So no, I do not now know how many models overall I have, but there's always room for one more...

Hi Ghosthunter

I guess that's alot then , you have more rolls Royce models then I have in my full collection of everything, and I don't know how you remember all the variations without your reference books.
It must be hard for you to find new additions for your collection, anyway good luck finding any you haven't managed to get yet.

It does depend on the type of swan (cue Monty Python sketch)

Here is another Y-7 1912 Rolls-Royce just added to my collection. It is a version I have been after for many, many Years and it has come to my collection through Kay, who you saw above mentioning that one of my varitions was on it's way.

Big thanks to you Kay for helping to source this model from a German ebay site where the seller would not ship the model to the UK, so I asked a few forum members if they could help. I asked Kay First and Roland Second for no particular reason except I had seen a posting from Kay on another forum so he was fresh in my mind, but I needed another German based member for back-up and Roland said he was very happy to help as well and on the back of this he set up a postal adress club, thank you Roland.

As for the model, what on Earth is special about it that I have not already got, well, you saw my Two holed baseplate version earlier in this thread and I see that as a Holy grail. This one for me is just as special because it has the very hard to find (for me!), 'Copper' finished Fire exstinguisher instead of the common 'Brass' finished version.

I am so pleased and relieved that Two long term outstanding versions have now joined the collection. It is soon time for a recount of these particular versions in the 'Woodgrain' box.
