Great photo's Marcel, thanks for that. Something dose not look right about that box. I'm sure mine is different to that one. The whole garage and box look like they were produced a lot later than the lipkin/lesney one's.

Wolfie, good to see you back in action on the board.
I took one look a the convoy copies from China and thought I've seen them and have a few myself. Then I had another look and realised the rear one had SPEEDBURNERS instead of MATCHBOX. I'd not seen this before! Is this all the Chinese manufacturer had to do to be allowed to carry on selling them?

Yes, I haven't seen the Commer van before. They do look to be in nice condition.

This was sold on Ebay early april 2014 (I didn't win) It is a plastic copy of Matchbox's Models of Yesteryear Y-7B 1913 Mercer Runabout. The description said that this toy was made in the 1960s in Hong Kong by Gordy Mite. The red car has black seats, with gold wheels and black tires. It is 3 inches long. The garage is also mint and is from Gordy Mite. It is labeled 1911 Daimler on the door. It measures 4" X 2.5" X 2".

Hello Matchboxmarcel,

Thank you for showing another 'variation on a theme'. These models were imported from The Hong Kong wholesaler by 'HENRY GORDY INC' during the late 1960's and marketed on the U.S. market as an additional range of models to his saloon cars he called, 'Mini-Mite'.

They are very similar (not identicle, being made from different moulds), to the models I have shown on page 14 of this thread and the name being moulded onto the surface of these models shows how big a company 'Henry Gordy Inc' was, great stuff, cheers.
