Well, it seemed silly leaving it there and for just a Fiver I had to rescue them from other Rolls-Royce collectors that may have been lurking around...

Earlier in this thread I showed a Silver-Grey James Bond Silver Cloud with Amber windows and the discussion went to the idea these are models with Sunfaded glazing as there did not seem to be mint versions being found. Thought I found one but when I picked it up and had a closer look, I saw crazing on the windscreen.

You can see the glazing is a graduation of clear to Amber starting at the rear door.

So there is still a mint, non crazed Amber window example to find which is pure Amber.

This model arrived this morning from NSW Australia. It was less than £5 to buy but with postage was about £15.

The model inside this box is a common version from the last Year of production, but it was put into this Maroon box which in Matchbox World is a 'J' type, only in 1984 and this combination is very hard to find.
This is in fact my Second example, sneaked out of 'Toysdownunder' who provided a very good service by packing the model separately inside the box then plenty of packing around the outside before being put into the proper postage box.
I am posting this here because I don't want my Australian friends over on 'Moyboyz' to know I got before they saw it...

Nice find, I must admit that I didn't know the Y10 Silver Ghost was issued in a maroon box. Yesteryears were where my collecting began. I have moved onto other things since, and have only kept a few, but I still have fond memories and a soft spot for them. One of my very first purchases was the 1982 gift set of 5 models which included the Silver Ghost. It was in our village shop in 1985, and I had to save up my pocket money for quite a while to get it! The same shop still had a Dinky Cinderella Coach on its shelves for 3.50, but I thought it was awful and left it there - a decision I haven't regretted.

Got another Gold plated Solido Rolls-Royce Phantom III, for £8 and another 'Chrome' plated Corgi CLASSICS 3Ltr Bentley, also for £8.
The plated Bentley is very hard to find as they were sort of copying Matchbox and it had been intended for these to be fitted to various desk items, but the idea was cancelled. Vectis will have these for Three figures, so my £8 will serve me well in the future and this is my Second example, both shown in a picture further down.

My treat at this event was this Japanese issue Silver Shadow with the last body casting (large rear wheel-arches) and dot-dash wheels which are rarely seen on this model.

Big thank you to Rob who saved this model for me when it came up in discussion at the previous Sanddown toy fair and I said I would like to have it.
One last model to be added to the collection was this very nice Rolls-Royce Phantom VI Mp3 docking station. It has quite a complicated history, but I only have it now due to the generosity of Marcel ("Matchboxmarcel"), who offered to collect it from another forum member here ("Ecclesley"), who had to cancel his trip to the toy fair to gift this model to me personally, so I have been giving out some of my biggest thank's so far to such friendly members of our collecting community, thank's again Guys.

The picture includes my Two very rare plated 3Ltr Bentley models from Corgi Toys.
I must also mention that a 'Yesteryear' Y3 Riley with Maroon seat and grille insert is no longer in my non R-R collection. I saw Bob (YYS4BOB), recently and he looked so down and out I felt so sorry for him as he said his collection is lacking that something special and I thought what he needed was a very rare Riley, something that One Day he can sell and retire on the proceeds and in return he gave me a Shoebox of Rolls-Royce and Bentley models.
I now have something to keep me busy during these long hot Summer evenings.

Baseplate is the normal gloss Black.
I have a mint on card and Two playworn examples of this version and always wanted a loose good condition example, so I am very pleased to get this.

Thank's Guys, the Lime Green version did not appear in the pocket catalogue, because even in the 1973 edition it was still shown as being in a Gold colour. The new number 69 model for 1974 was the Turbo fury so I don't think it had a very long production period. I don't remember if this version has been shown before on the forum by anyone (correct me if I am wrong), so it is a first!
