we have had in the past but not currently.

hugh, my two one off castings were the 8e mustang in orange and the 28c jag mk 10, bpw 3 line base, both models were unique castings. unlike the thunderbird they both came from the beginning of the timeline.

milton, did you get any other pieces from the same dealer?.

No, I only bought the Tbird, I took photos that day of the show and I am looking to see if there is any evidence of the seller, he was on the edge of the jumble, sort of facing where the cars were assembled.

So just throwing it out there, what if Lesney were researching a sort of surf rack for surf boards, a pre hot wheels custom job to sell stateside
a vision of what the future would become, would not that have been amazing...

That's a nice idea, can't offer any insight into that though. Personally I'd like to have seen something like a VW Van/Caravette adapted with the boards on top (unlike the side mounts on the Beach Bomb), that would be a fun model.

Batterseaboy, I think your idea is more than possible in the R & D department but would have at the time your talking about never got past Jack Odell and the famous Tuesday boardroom meetings! In fact there would be a good chance of finding the prototype in the canal behind the Lee Convency road factory.
Surf boards did come out on model in 1977 once Odell had retired.
