A light Pink #24 for £5 with some Black marker pen detail trimming, a 'Yesteryear' Y-5 'Blower' Bentley with the No.3 race decal instead of the regular No.5. This was a Free gift from Mr "Tjlglass", he had promised to show the model to me so I could check the baseplate design, hoping it was a late issue, it is not but a welcome gift all the same, big thank you Tim. A 'Yesteryear' Y-10 Silver Ghost in spanking brand new condition for £1, a 'Yestreyear' Y-7 Rolls-Royce from "Fixer" he very kindly got for me of Ebay for £7, because of it's early 1977 specification, a James Bond issue Silver Cloud in it's 'Mail Away' box and somebody had cut out the illustration details of the model from the biscuit wrapper of Burton's 'Jammie Dodgers' and stuck this onto the box, this was £3, a #44b Phantom V with Grey Plastic Wheels for £10, to add to my others! and the Silver Cloud in the middle, #44a, also has Grey Plastic Wheels which 'In Hand' are very light, this was just £3.50!

I also got hold of the new "FAB 1" model by 'TAKARA-TOMY' as seen in the CGi version of Thunderbirds and you can see that elsewhere on the forum.

Met several members of the forum, Hi Guys, great meeting all of you, it turns this event into a real social event for me as I also have so many dealer friends to go and chat to, Hi SteveM and StephenK, had a quick word with Rob as he was trying to pack away his stock, that's how late it was and I still had a few Guys I could not get round to seeing, the Day really needs to be longer!!

The next Sandown is in March 2016, see you all there.

You would not be disappointed Al , for me it's far superior to NEC as a venue

That was a very rewarding venue for you Kevin, super stuff!
I will try to go there in March next year, but my decision will depend on the safety situation in Europe.

Thank's Guys.

Yes Alex, I am with Reg on the venue and I doubt you will be be disappointed in it or it's goods.

OK Gerrit, it would be great to finally meet you and we send out our feelings to the Families of the recent Paris troubles, but hopefully in the new Year we can coax you to England.

Thank's Marcel, we are missing you at Sandown, so do please try and come next Year.

Two good days for me with a collector friend from Germany. Sandown Saturday & Brighton Sunday. Only a couple of models for me, both Spykers, both painted but with giftware bases.

Image
Three distinct shades of yellow here, all with the holes in the later base

Image
The darkest one is the new one. Neither the mid yellow or the dark yellow are listed in the YY references with this closed running board base with holes.

Image
Then the example with the unplated wheels was picked up at Brighton. Earlier open running boards

Image
But again with the holes for mounting on giftware. None of these are threaded, although they are known to exist. The search goes on.

Congratulations! Very nice found especially for the light pink #24 and the Jammie Dodgers biscuit wrapper. It's interesting that the Silver Could graphic on the actual wrapper was different from the Ad.

Below is Matchbox leaflet on the Jammie Dodgers promotion. The Silver Cloud graphic on the actual wrapper is the same as the big Silver Cloud at the bottom of the leaflet.

Below is extracted from the top half of the leaflet. The Silver Cloud graphic is the same as the Ad below (from Ghosthunter's another post) but different from the one on the actual wrapper.

Brentwood, 12th December, 2015.

Had arranged to meet "Fixer" because he had a 'Transitional' Yesteryear model for me from Ebay and when we met he had company in the form of our leader, Nick Jones and it was nice to meet Nick again after a long absence.

A few other forum members were there, one in particular teasing Reg and myself with some delicious rare models he just happened to have lying around in a bag...!

My own purchases were down to Two models, a 'James Bond' Silver Cloud with the long awaited 'Amber' glazing. This is not in the best condition but as it is the only example I have seen in hand and it was only 50p so will do until a better one turns up.

I also got yet another Y-5(B) Bentley with the number '3' race decal in really good condition for only £2.

The model Reg got for me off Ebay is from the 'Giftware' range. It has narrow (pre-1977) springs with the metal narrow section wheel and tyre combination, but the spare tyre carrier is designed for the wide section wheel and tyre combination, meaning the narrow tyre does not sit very well on the carrier!

You can see how the tyre is such a bad fit on the carrier.

This is a complete opposite to the model in the following pictures...

...and the tyre on this carrier sits properly, but because the main springs on this are wide (post-1977), the spare tyre carrier should also be of the wider design for the fittment of the wide section wheel and tyre combination!!

Both versions together and both classed as 'Transition' models and it is nice to now have the Two together as a matching pair.
