Nice to meet you all at Sandown this Saturday.
I was home around 8.30 this Sunday.

There weren’t so many Matchbox models on offer this time.
Great selection on Corgi and other nice old (rare) toys.

John Moore didn’t have a table this time and recently was in hospital.
It was good to meet him briefly just prior we had to leave for a visit to Bob’s collection.
John was there as a visitor only and said all is well with him after the operation.

I also met Trevor Bannister who many of you will know as one of the main Matchbox dealers with attending most MICA conventions and lot’s of toy fairs.
He is now 76 and only went to Sandown as a visitor. He is no longer selling after his wife Nora passed away quite some years ago now.

Got to speak with Matchbox collector Rob Freeman who had a nice and big stand of Matchbox models. (Didn’t make photos this time of his stand)

I did however made some photos at our small meeting with coffee in the morning.

Alex Picha from Prague on the left and Gary Galvin on the right.
Alex made the big and nice book about Models of Yesteryear till 1972. (released a couple of years ago and now sold out but a must have for Matchbox collectors)

Gary’s father worked for Matchbox and Gary was telling about celebrating Christmas at the Machbox canteen from the early 60ties on.
Later on he also worked there for a few years during the summerhollidays.

Gary Calvin on the left, then Graham Hamilton (who has a nice sale november 15th) and Bob Tutt.
Alex Picha (from the back) from Prague.

Garry Matthews standing on the left (1 of the 2 main authors of the white book), Bob Tutt, Graham Hamilton, Alex Picha and Philipe Sergeant (clockwise around) and Kevin (Ghosthunter) (from the back)
Philipe Sergeant used to work for Tyco Matchbox in the 90ties.
(Reg just missed on this photo)

This photo I especially made for Mick ! There was more LEGO but this I thought you would like :10/10:

A nice tinplate and very big Sentinel in 1 cabinet of one of the auction houses at the show.

One of the great items at the show, A Spot-On giftset.

Early afternoon it was up to go to the south to visit Bob’s collection. There were more Matchbox there then on the complete Sandown swapmeet.
I made some photos there aswell prior I took the train back to London at 18.00 to get my night coach back to The Netherlands.

Holmes Chapel,Cheshire for Misterpop today..Not been to a fair for ages..Had to see if sales where healthy or was it just my Ebay gems where worthless...I have to say there was not a great scramble but I dont usualy get to these things till after the main carcass is picked bare...Still I copped for a couple of nice cheap books and Yellow Guy Transporter of the Matchbox persuasion.....Also for those who know Mr and Mrs Stockton they are in good health.....May check his auction in Chester later this month. As long as Christmas dos'nt interfear of course.......

Very tempting and it would be good to meet DrJeep, but I fear it won't be happening unless...
