So very sorry to hear of your Father's passing Ghosty. I pray that Jesus's tender love be with you and yours during this most difficult of time.
.
Sorry for post being so late as I missed this when you first posted. Thanks to Charliep for letting me know.

Thank you Jim, lateness is not a problem here, the meaning is strong and appreciated.

I saw Mum Yesterday evening and the change is quite incredible. She is talking better and tells me the nurses helped her out of bed so she could sit in a casual chair. She can now drink through a straw (only water for now0, and she could be in a normal ward in a couple of Weeks.

This is of course very good news and we are keeping our fingers crossed this is a sign she will make a recovery that will give her some sort of a respectable and comfortable life.

I will not visit Mum tonight because during the Day I visited Dad in the chapel of rest with an Aunt and Three Cousins. It was very upsetting, but I wanted to see him at rest, with no demons clawing away at his health anymore. I also placed in his pockets some items dear to him to help him on his final journey from this World into the next.

The items I chose was the last issue of 'Old Glory' he never got to see in Hospital. He was a big fan of steam traction engines and had this magazine from issue 1.

In this magazine I placed a colour leaflet about Westward Ho! in North Devon, a place where I lived for quite a number of Years and he loved coming down to see me on bank holidays etc and really loved the quaint little seaside village it was at the time. On the front of this leaflet I Sellotaped one of my Cat's whiskers. I also placed a picture of his last Cat he had before moving into the tower block. The Cat's name was "Sue". I have put a note from Mum and a message from me wishing him a safe and peaceful journey. The magazine is placed in the inside pocket of his suit jacket.

Finally, I put a 'Models of Yesteryear' Blower Bentley in his trouser pocket. This I gave him from my collection as he wanted to start a collection of Bentley models, he had 4 so far.

I loved my Dad like no other person I know and miss him so much, but I now have to come to terms with the fact I can do no more for him and will have to let him go and all I will have are the memories and some personal belongings as momentoes.

Kevin I hope your dear mum is now making some positive progress towards her recovery.

Your dad clearly meant so much to you, your hero. I could feel your love for him in every word you wrote.

Thank's Alex.

Just a few minutes ago the Hospital phoned me to tell me Mum is being moved to another ward. This means she is out of the intensive care unit, phew!
