Indeed Reg,

On this occassion i paid a little bit more than £1. But it was worth it as this "Long Seat" variant is so difficult to find especially in this condition!

Congrats on the great deal, Alex. You must be 'chuffed' to get the HTF 'long seat' version, and a beautiful minter, too! A very pretty package, keep up the winning streak!
:D
Cheers,
Ken

Alex, your new 'Long Seat' model, superb find, but I can not quite make out the design of the corners of the 'cut-out' for the tow hook. They will be sharp or rounded. I have arrowed the area on my 'Long Seat' version, these are the sharp design. Can you photograph just the highlighted area on yours (I would like to see rounded edges, making the body a MK 2 design and the perfect match to mine with a MK 1 body design).

Cheers,
GHOSTHUNTER.

I will attend to that request this weekend.

I am a little concerned now as i had no idea that i was going to have to now find additional variations of the long seat variant!!!! Took me long enough to find that one!!!

Thanks Ghosty ;) ;) ;)

Kev,

As requested here is the cut out for the tow hook on my long seat variant.

My version also has sharp edges.

Hello mbx75,

If you have read all the sections in this thread about the so-called 'Long Seat' Silver Shadow drop-top, you will now have some sort of understanding as to why some of the forum members are now chasing one!

It is just the sort of "Matchbox" model that is overlooked and missed by collectors and this forum is an ideal place to un-earth such models and bring them to the attention of collectors and the variations listings etc.

At first I had this particular version/variation, at the start of a 'Time-Line' of the #69c, but thanks to some other forum members, we have established it is of later production, than I originally thought and now sits about midway in the 'Time-Line'.

Thanks for posting pictures of some of your own #69c models, especially the Tan coloured base plate version, another HTF model, very nice.

Good luck with the search for the 'Long Seat' blue bodied version.

Regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

Alex, thank you for the pictures of your 'Long Seat' version tow hook area.

Yes, the edges of the rear bumper cut-outs are sharp, so the model matches my model, that on 'my' listing is 'A5' (the 'A' denoting a MK 1 body casting and 'B' denoting a MK 2 body casting) so you have not found a 'B' version of the 'Long Seat' model, phew!

That does not mean one does not exist, so you can't relax just yet, sorry mate!!!

Nice to hear from you, I love your forum postings, keep them coming, they really cheer me up, thanks.

Ghosty.
