Hi Steve,

I see you are still having issues with the image sizes.

I use "Paint" editing software which was preloaded on my laptop. It's so easy to use i simply right click on any image i have saved in my pictures folder, then I choose EDIT, this takes me straight to my paint software where the image appears awaiting editing.

I then pick the RESIZE option and click on PIXELS, then i set the horizontal to between 400 - 500 (the vertical sets automatically), If i am happy with the resized image i then click the blue file icon and choose the Save as option. I save the edited image to a new folder that i call "Forum images" and Hey Presto you have an edited image awaiting uploading to the forum.

I find that setting the horizontal to a max 500 pixels means that when you upload your image you end up with the whole image appearing without slide bars.

JOB DONE!!

I have used the above technique on the latest images you posted, here are the results.

Thank's guys for yet more images of "Matchbox" copies or 'Inspired by' models.

Lots of hints and tips on photo editing or resizing exist in 'My' earlier threads on these and thank's to "Motorman" for putting a link to it...please read all the pages and have fun playing around with your images...just remember to makes copies first and play with those, that way if you muck it up, you still have your original images.

Regards,
Ghosty.

I spotted this on etsy, understandably listed as a Lesney. I messaged the lady selling it asking if there was any writing underneath - it has 'Japan' embossed on the bottom of the right hand door. Is it one of these AHI copies like Mikes tanker - I wasn't sure as I thought the tanker had a solid cab whereas this isn't.

Link to the now amended sale listing is here if anyone is interested

I've just checked the link to Gary's AHIs and they have solid cabs too so maybe this is from another maker?

It's very difficult to tell with these models but it doesn't seem to fit with AHI who had a copy of the 13a in their range with a similar shape and colour to the Matchbox version. AHI did make some models with open windows (just to muddy the waters) and the wheels are very similar to those used on their 21a copy. They were a bit of a maverick company though because I remember seeing some models they had copied which were similar to either Charbens or Benbros although I can't think of another wrecker that resembles the one on etsy off hand.

A couple of Hong Kong Water Tanker copies I noticed on ebay here, one plastic and one diecast. I know we don't discuss live auctions here, but no-one went for them and they're now on their second time around. I have them on my watch list so if anyone wants the link please PM me - I won't be bidding. (I hope that seems fair to everyone?)

Ewan, your little green breakdown truck is going to be hard to fully identify and having Japan on the base is only a little help. The wheels are dead ringers for those fitted to 'CHARBENS' vehicles of the mid 1950's, so we need to find out who was copying Charbens, instead of Matchbox!!!
