Yes it was the box that caught my eye it did not look like a repro and bid on it as i was courios
the model i already have but as a Toyota Celica GT No 25 USA issue box Made in Hong Kong
also strange was the fact that the model was shown as a MB61.

Hopefully someone may have more details.

'DYNAMIC GEAR' is a brand name used by Mandarin in Singapore. They started toy car production in 1966 until the early 1970's. They made a copy of the Matchbox 'Londoner' in 1979. They have business connections with 'PLAYART'.

They have made a series of Military toys and passenger jet liners. The Toyota looks like the Matchbox model so it will be interesting to see how close the tooling is.

Here is the Mandarin Buick Riviera with it's box designed to capture the look of Tri-Ang's 'Top Gear' models in name and look!

Would it be possible to have a picture of the base of Toyota as i think that it is a Matchbox which has
been used.

Thanks for the info Kevin on Dynamic Gear

I would also like to see the baseplate. If it is a Matchbox model I am guessing we are looking at early to mid 1980's introduction for the Mandarin 'Dynamic Gear' issue which is interesting as this implies they were still active into the 1980's.

I am wondering whether the model has just been added and has no connection with the box
as i have already said i have this model and it appears to be identical the other thing is the
designation of it being a MB61.

RE-POSTED HERE FOR STEVE.

I can't find the thread I wanted to post these pictures in. I can't even remember the subject name which doesn't help!!
Someone posted a picture of this box and I wanted to add my one to the discussion.

It's obviously a generic box for this series as there is a red sticker on one end of the box with the name of the model inside.

New arrival.
Please help me check the colours. Both of them are Miura yellow?
Let's check the difference between the bases: letters, slightly dfference on base around the front axle, difference around the rear rivet on right side.

Comments are welcome!

Cheers, Peter

Hi Peter,
Very nice models, the PAT APP can be found in 2 different size,s which you show in the pictures very nicely. Also found on the silver base as well, the rear rivet base I am not sure about. J
