I'm very happy to have the signings near my stall. I'm right opposite Rob Freeman, so it is a bit of a Matchbox area. It does get very busy though, so not sure how it might work at peak times! The other option might be to have a word with Barry Potter. He might be able to sort out a table for at least part of the day seeing as it's a book launch and signing session?

Thank's Stephen. It was with you and or Rob in mind when I first suggested the idea. Just wait for Nick's response before we finalize it.

Either with Stephen or Rob would be fine, I should only need a foot or two of table as I will only have 20 or 30 copies for sale, see how they sell and maybe I will do the same at the nec.
Thanks guys.
ps I am expecting the books to be delivered tomorrow, I should have them signed and in the mail on saturday or monday at the latest.

OK Nick, an open request here to StephenK and Rob to offer Nick a bit of space on their table for the duration of signing those 20 or so books. This would do away with my contacting Barry Potter for an additional (costly!), table.

As the toy fair is coming up fast (Saturday the 12th November), and Stephen comes forward first then it will be Stephen's table we will borrow or if Rob comes forward first it will be Rob's table. If neither manage to come forward in a suitable time both tables will be borrowed and they can share the glory and have a few books on each table, because they are so close, Nick only has to stand at the end of Rob's table, turn round and it will look as if he is ready to buy something of Stephen's table, OK guys!

With 1.500+ visitors that sounds not that many !
There is also a big Matchbox area at John Moore and Bob May's stalls. Good to have some copies there as well. I am sure John will do this for you.

Best would be however a stall at the entrance,
Often new books get atention there.
If there were no books and no forums there would be less collectors I think ! So good for both Sandown and the Dealers that there are a few cracy people in the world to spent so much free time to realise a book or set up a forum. They should realise that and give you a free table !

Marcel,

I agree with what you say, but we are a bit late for announcements and I guess Nick himself was not sure when or where a book signing could take place. I am sure Barry Potter the fair's organiser would have been very happy to oblige in setting up a small area in reception/entrance had we made official early announcements that a book signing is to take place and that Sandown had been chosen. I will try and speak to Barry when there just to get is views on this in case it happens again with some other launch in the future.

Rob.

Big thanks for helping out. I think it would be better if Nick could have the extreme right hand end of your table providing this won't mess up your usual display cabinets so he is near Stephen, I don't want Stephen to feel left out and as I mentioned in an earlier post Nick can then easily be at both tables for some chatting.
