Made in England...just!

... A prototype was created by painting a normal 'Macau' MB31, in the new colour, but it was painted in a matt Caramel colour, not the metallic 'Gold' as found on full production models and somehow, the index plate was tampo printed with "FROTUNE" instead of "FORTUNE".

The pictures below show the pre-pro model in Caramel, alongside a full production 'Gold' example from Thailand, note the front index plates.

I don't know how many actual examples of these Caramel 'World Class' preproduction models were made, but the one used for photography on this promotional materiel for the range, seems to have white walled tyres, suggesting a slightly later version than the example in my pictures.

So Ritchie, keep looking for it, one day it may appear on the collectors market,

I do own the Caramel 'World Class' model shown in the pictures alongside the Made in Thailand 'World Class' version.

I don't normally collect such models, but it was offered to me by a forum member and I thought it would a make change from collecting all the normal production models and I am pleased now that I have it.

Found this old photo on my photobucket account.

It is a plum prepro of this Silver Cloud with an England base. You don't tend to see a lot of them about, and when they were first released I remember being shocked about the fact they were made in England as by then pretty much everything had gone to Macau.

I'm turning it into a new car bit by bit.
Actually I just offered it as a part exchange on a live aboard bus, I'm torn between a bus and a yacht, can't decide if I want to explore the UK or explore the whole world.
I wanted to be a new age traveller but I'll just have to content myself with being an old age traveller.

Er...torn between a boat and a bus, well that's easy, look at what you've had in the past, why not build a boat-bus, that way you can have a bus that floats and take paying passengers!!!!!
