A mix of recent additions
Re: A mix of recent additions
Heres your very own Misterpop in 1974 driving Butlins Ford Transit Minibus at Butlins Barry Island South Wales .I know its hard to believe but I was just a young man in my 20s in my second driving job.At night I waited till the bars closed and drove the staff home all around the surrounding villages and in the day I drove a twin wheeler V4 Transit to the local farms with dustbins full of food waste...
Heres the man with the bargains.Always open to offers from this sites members..http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/misterpop/m.h ... m=&_ipg=25
Re: A mix of recent additions
In the last two weeks some more additions to my collection(s).
First of all a garage bridge and 2 petrol pumps from Mini Toy, a small Dutch manufacturer in the fifties.
The Dinky Studebaker already was in my collection but obviously needed some maintenance...
Some more Payá International copies from Spain. The blue Fiat 1500 isn't missing its luggage, but had been sold as such.
Payá sold the Fiats with AND without roof luggage! I have a proof in unopened blister in my collection.
Finally I found a mint King Size K-11 DAF Car Transporter in blue/gold. On the 2nd and 3rd pic with some more gold: 3 Payá models.
Notice the difference in window colour of the two MG's! The Payá MG's alsways have a driver like the Lesney, but NO dog on the rear seat!
Well, one truly feels like a King with all that Royal Blue and Gold, isn't it? Well, at least certainly I do!
And some played with Lesney's bought in France. Who spots the gem?

Interesting...Payá appears to have converted the Lesneys to left-hand drive. No clue what the gem might be, but if the Jeep Gladiator has metal door springs and 11x45 wheels, it's a variation I'd like to have.

The Gladiator unfortunately is a bad repaint, so no gem...Squid wrote:Interesting...Payá appears to have converted the Lesneys to left-hand drive. No clue what the gem might be, but if the Jeep Gladiator has metal door springs and 11x45 wheels, it's a variation I'd like to have.

That would have been nice Kurt, but the green Zodiac is a thin wheel SF.MatchboxFreak wrote:Is the green 53 Ford Zodiac a regular wheel?!?!?
Leaving 4 out of 6 options being the gem...

All credit goes to you Jason!nearlymint wrote:A grey plastic wheel Taxi?
Indeed it is a GPW Taxi. And 100% original! Overall condition, axle ends and rivets are OK.
The lot of 6 playworn Lesneys was offered on Evilpay for only € 19 (+ € 12 p&p from France) as 'buy it now'.
The first picture in the advert was just like the one I posted hereabove, so nothing particular focused on this model, not
even mentioning the GPW. Just indicating lot of 6 Matchbox, Land Rover, American Taxi, Jaguar, Pick Up.
All other pics he inserted also were 'just as is' plain photos. So I guess seller didn't know the GPW is that special.
The model is missing its TAXI decal and is playworn, but hey, the price was right and I prefer it much better like this instead of a too smooth model presented in a perfect way!
