3a Cement Mixer

If someone wanted more info about it, I'm sure he would remember this model and possibly respond to an email inquiry.

I contacted Alan (Toyboy) about the 3a with unpainted MW and he e-mailed back as follows:
“I remember the model very well. I considered it a fake from the first time I saw it in Frankie Fleming’s collection. In fact, I listed it as such, and sold it as a novelty for $30. Here are some pictures. The axle crimp does not look standard.”

Alan very kindly gave me permission to publish the two photographs which appear below.

Are those 2a (i.e. 12.5 x 18) or 24a (i.e. 14 x 18) wheels? (As previously pointed out, for this to be credible as a pre-production, they would need to be the former.)

I am just going by the height of the wheels compared to the bottom of the side motor grills, and these look like the 24A larger wheels. I measured a 3A that is on my desk to get a rough measurement, and the stock Mixer wheels are 14mm in height, and they seem to be at a similar location on the Mixer. If that is the case, the timeline is not correct for these later wheels to be available for use on a pre-production 3A. If others see these as the smaller wheels, I could be wrong. The other point I see is that the 2A seems to have 3 rings around it's tire centers. This Mixer shows a single ring denoting where the rim and tire meet, just like the 24A metal wheels. It would be easier to check this model in hand, someday the new owner may share it with a Forum member.......kwakers

IIRC, the original discussion had the wheels I.D. at coming from a Weatherill and thus the time line problem doomed the mixer.
