No certainly not. Some of his essentially wooden Rolls-Royce models went for silly money quite a number of years back. He is a very well known and respected scratchbuilder in the model car world.

I see the problem here...I quote from Google.....Please bear with me.....This is a new one on me as well..
[Quote]RD Marmande are probably the most charming models ever made. RD, that is Raymond Daffaure from the town of Marmande in South-West France, is in a way probably one of the greatest model makers ever. All his models are made entirely by hand from a piece of wood. Mr Daffaure sculpted about 40 models a month, for 20 years, to make a living. For him, limited to X pieces wasn‘t a marketing strategy, but pure necessity. Of his best selling model, the Ferrari GTO, he made maybe 200 copies, others were made only in 2 or 3 copies. The Quattroporte was built in at least 3 copies... as the copy here pictured sports the number 3. Raymond Daffaure probably sculpted more than 800 different cars.[quote]
Yes Kevin I see what you mean..An exclusive model indeed....As Monet said to Letrec draw your own conclusions...We learn something every day hey?

I made a soap box racer as kid, some carpentry but no carving.

When I was done with the derby, I put a motor on mine. I used the motor off of my dad's Iron Lung.
When my mother found out she let out a gasp and said Noooo.
My dad just let out a gasp!
... Thank you very much folks, my name is TinMan and I'll be here all week!

So if he was the greatest model maker ever, who were Gerald Wingrove and Olive Manuel Sans?
Apart from the thousands of amateur model makers that actually can make models?
