An eye patch has been suggested by another model enthusiast and collector friend so certainly will look into that...Yes, the pun was intended 
When asked at the hospital the doctor said I could carry on driving as I still have 20/20 vision in the right eye, as long as I look after it with a high omega 3 based diet.
Food wise I am not too bad as I have got into more beef, fish and eggs than I used too and I now only have fish and chips on days ending with a 'Y'.
