I do not recall finding rare variants among the standard issues.
Typically the rare variants were offered for sale at the Mica auctions or toy shows.

That makes it an even more impressive achievement that you have managed to obtain so many different versions from this series! Many thanks for all your posts, showing lots of items I haven't seen before, and more variations than I would have dreamt possible.
