Were the land Rovers in those sets plastic?
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Oh my, another to go and look for. I fear I am catching something with this searching and desire for a copy or two for my shelf...

Thank you,

OMG... My wife is going to kill me... She is already leery with the 1:1 scale 12As here... But, these don't take up the same amount of space... I wonder if that will work?

Take a look at Ebay Germany.
These models are not rare and you can buy them for small money.

There is also a smaler copy of the Wiking Land Rover made by Ferrero.

I think my wife would say that you are not being very helpful here, as I head to eBay.de... :-)

Ferrero, another to add to the list!

12B is an entirely different discussion. One I am happy to have too... (Yes, I have had 1:1 12B and 12C's. I have enough parts to build at least one full scale 12C).

New Zealand is interesting as you get Lincoln, using the Tucker Box die, which, as you note became MotorWay Mini, and then was made in Hong Kong with a different paint scheme. I have found several web sides that say the second Tucker Box die (there were two from what I can find out, corresponding to two different castings) went to Fun Ho!. The Fun Ho! museum says they did get several Tucker Box dies, but states that the Land Rover was not one of them. One of each and a magnifying glass would help answer which way that one goes. I did not realise that there was a third variation, to which of the preceding, I am unclear.

As for Japan, I know that Louis Marx Toys LineMar line was made in Japan, but only have found phots of the box, and very poor of the toy amongst others. I understand that there may be come other Japanese, but know nothing of them.

German 12A? Beyond the Wiking and Ferrero previously mentioned?

Regards from Canada,

Dixon

The thing with collecting copies of something is how sure are we it is a copy and not just another toy or model of a popular vehicle. We have a great Matchbox Copies thread here...https://www.vintagebritishdiecasts.co.u ... ?f=5&t=338 with some very nice copies of various Matchbox models.

I found the thread on the copies a while ago. It is indeed interesting, and prompted me to join the forum.
