Just to add a few points here...It will be a public event, not a closed event like the old MICA conventions which were only open to MICA (Matchbox International Collectors Associastion) members.

To initially replace those old MICA conventions I feel it should be Lesney - Matchbox specifc so it becomes a 'Stand Alone' event for the enthusiasts and collectors of this companies products of which there are many enthusiasts and collectors out there, not even aware of us here on the forum so there is a possible wide catchment of collectors for this event to cater for.

If it included the Corgi and Dinky products (among the many others) this would be a good overall encompassing show, but will dilute the Lesney - Matchbox aspect and again, I feel the influence Lesney's products have had on so many of the other brands desrves recognition within the current collecting community. I know Dinky dates back further than Lesney and probably have influenced other toy and model companies, I want to see a show dedicated to Lesney - Matchbox first.

So over to you guys for your ideas please and do please add your vote to the poll.

I came from Australia one time to attend a work convention in Harrogate. Thought it was superb place, to be fair, friends lived there.

So it seems we have very little support so far. What details would members like to be reading about that could be included within the event to trigger your interest?
