Very likely not.....

Tony (Recovertoy) has pretty much always been hard to get hold of. I stopped purchasing because it was so hit and miss.

since I was told his items (un marked faux )are not kosher even for storage I quit following him

As luck would have it I was in the Antiques Centre in Camberwell when I overheard the chap behind the counter greet a Tony - they were discussing repairs to a toy this Tony had made - so being the nosy bugger I am I popped my head over the banisters (I was upstairs) and said "you wouldn't happen to be Tony Howden would you?" - he replied "I might be - depends on whether its a good thing or a bad thing" - I said "its a good thing - I want to give you some photos of a rare Melbourne made toy for your web site".

When I got downstairs again we had a brief chat while I explained who I was and where I was from and what I had for him. He openly admitted he's not great at responding to emails, but I said no problem, I just need an email address to send the images to him and it was up to him if he replied or not. So he wrote it out and when I got home I sent him the images. I also took the time to have a good look at the models he had on display for sale (at the back of the Antiques Centre). Some lovely, but expensive, items there - why can't I win the lottery?

I won't publish his email but if anyone needs it PM me with an explanation of why you need it and I'll let you know what it is....

If you are talking about his reproduction boxes, they are some of the very few (reproduction boxes) that are clearly marked with his Recovertoy logo.

yes if they are conspicuously marked then it should be ok to use ( need 100) never did get a reply on a bulk order.

on one ? of the sites it stated dont use,as this whole practice was making the US producer/seller $$$ as he gets $20-30 for some..only after he sells the original for $$$ then the car for inflated $$$

I'm not sure what the objection or problem is? Plenty of dealers and collectors prefer to sell models and boxes separately of each other. As to how much people charge for reproduction boxes, I guess it depends on if they are 1-75s, Major Pack, Kings or YYs as some are a lot more work than others. I takes some time and effort to make a decent replacement reproduction box (especially those with slide out trays or inserts). I've yet to see a reproduction box that was good enough to be passed as counterfeit.
