Whilst doing my weekly hunt on line for my miscellaneous toys which includes horse drawn wagons and carts I came across these images of the Modern Products covered wagon with 6 horses. Both of these have sold at different times on ebay and they both show 6 horse wagons with copper barrels. Maybe a batch of copper coloured barrels went to the USA and your memory is ok after all.

Thanks for the images. I am not going crazy after all! Copper barrels are probably not rare either, but at least I can feel comfortable that it is all original.
