Finding a model with that 'F' wheel among the 'M' wheels is a nice transition model as yours can not have been far away from models being fitted with the wider wheel design. Wide wheels being introduced during 1971.
While moulding numbers and letters also appear on wide wheels they do not follow-on from narrow wheels as you would expect. It appears they went back and ran through the alphabet again starting with 'A', so finding wide 'A' wheels during 1971 ('A' comes from 1969-70 thin wheel production) seems wrong and can be confusing!
